Torre Agbar “The Agbar Tower”

As a student of Architecture. For me Torre agbar or Agbar Tower (english translation). I base it as a Anti – Contextual to the site, but the structure show to us a sign, icon, image and reflection of what is Art. The Torre Agbar or Agbar Tower for me, My first imagination for the Torre Agbar or the Agbar tower, I imagine a huge spaceship with alien thing inside it, Also full of barrier. My second (2nd) imagination  is huge (gigantic) bullet. I think some people think of it. “what is this thing” but deep inside shock and awe and some this structure is nice. The secret of all this thing is Architect Jean Nouvel. Architect Jean Nouvel is known as Bold French architect and his slick-sensuous glass surfaces. some of his works are skyscraper
the best example is Torre Agbar or The Agbar Tower. Some of his works are Nemausu 1 and Arab World institute.

Imagine your first day vacationing in Spain. You’re walking around the streets of Barcelona with eyes of wonder, simply amazed with the beautiful surroundings. All of a sudden, this tall bullet-shaped building catches your attention. Barcelona is famous for its articulate and diverse architecture. Gothic, and modern buildings can be found everywhere in Barcelona. Many of them are inspired by Antonio Gaudi’s designs, such as this tall bullet-shaped structure that just caught your eye, known as Torre Agbar.
The word “Agbar” is made up of Castilian Aguas de Barcelona or Augues de Barcelona in Catalan. Aguas (from the term itself) is the municipal water company which at this moment in time belongs to the Group of Agbar (or Grupo Agbar).
The Torre Agbar or Agbar Tower (english translation), according to the worldwide web, is a thirty – eight story tower situated in between Diagonal and Carrer Badajoz, in close proximity to Placa De les Glories Catalanes. It is said that the construction of this marks the first step to new-fangled technological district of Barcelona, Spain. The Agbar Tower was said to be designed by a French architect namely Jean Nouvel who has close association with the Spanish firm B720 Arquitectos and. Its precise location is in the Poblenou, neighborhood of Barcelona which is flat, with extensive boulevards, low-rise housing and an area that spawned a number of decent clubs, restaurants and inimitable structures (like the Torre Agbar).
Torre Agbar, finished just last July in the year two thousand and five (2005), is at present, the hottest sensation in Barcelona skyline. It possesses an attention-grabbing shape and astonishing design which beforehand, collided with much dissension. But despite those issues, here it is now, standing confidently in front of many passersby rising into the sky at thirty-four stories tall and a hundred and forty – two meters in height because the designer supposed that the tower is “a distant echo of old Catalan obsessions, carried on the winds that blow in from Montserrat” and a structure (known to be a geyser) inspired by Antoni Gaudi (an internationally known Catalan architect and designer).
Basic statistics (as for humans) of Torre Agbar is just implausible. It has a height fof a hundred and forty – two meters with gross floor area of 50, 500 m 2. There are four thousand five hundred windows which elucidates breathtakingly at night and even at day time.
The Interior
The inside of the Torre Agbar is structurally out of the ordinary. According to research, twenty-eight out of the building’s thirty-four story area is at this time, utilized for offices and a supplementary three house encompassing the procedural components of the building. A cafeteria comprising one whole story of the over – all building has been built. Another story to for conference rooms. In addition to that, one floor of the structure is meant for observation purpose (known as observation area). There were also four subterranean floors which includes an auditorium as well as the parking facilities for the customer and worker’s comfort.
The Exterior
Technically, the said building is made up of two firm non-concentric oval cylinders topped by a glass and a steel dome. There are no internal columns in the structure, although, the building’s services and emergency stairwells were strategically situated in the central concrete core for easy trouble – free access to safety.  According to research, the Torre Agbar’s first skin is covered by a concrete structure which is a layer of sophisticated aluminum in various colors (that is, blue, green and gray). Whereas the second skin, which appends and glistening sparkles to the building, is made up of fifty – nine thousand, six hundred and nineteen (59, 619) sheets of clear glass. Four thousand windows or blinds get along with louvers that incline in an assortment of directions building block to out any direct ultraviolet light (sunlight).
AT NIGHT
This immense skyscraper is pretty much magnificent at night. The variety of colors ranging from blue, green and gray at day tainted into a multihued one at night having 4,500 yellow, blue, pink, and red lights illuminating the exterior.
This is not actually a tower and not even a skyscraper. It is nothing but only one of its kind piece of an art that would stand so confidently tall in the middle of a tranquil city. It is said that this marvelous structure is like a “fluid mass that has perforated the ground – a geyser under a permanent calculated pressure”. Indeed it is, for according to many, the construction call to mind the idea of a hydro (a water) which is but a smooth and a free-flowing, calm and transparent; that when combined with light, it would apparently be seen with multi – colored pits. Definitely, the idea of it is not that earthy (not like pyramids built from gigantic, useful rocks), rather more of water for it does not acquire the weight of a stone.
Thus, the tower without a doubt, represents a water fountain that would at all times, revolutionizes its appearance (referring to the change in colors). The changes in colors depend on the colored aluminum sheeting that reflects the light consisting or 40 different colors of high gloss. The front consisting of a clad with thousands of glass louvers serves as a sunscreen to protect them from the ultraviolet rays brought by the sun. And more so, it is inclined at a variety of angles for an assurance of an optimum reflection of solar energy. Moreover, the components of this tower is not just meant for skin (dermatologic) protection but also for the respiratory aspects for the reason that the space between the façade layers allows a natural circulation of air in the building.
Truly, this structure is not a piece of a joke for it has, by any means, undergone further researches and study not just to come up with a dazzling spot for the purpose of earning but also for something else beyond “money” and entertainment (for the sake of tourism) per se. The building of this structure did not undermine the health aspect, but became more concerned about it. That is the good thing about this also.
